Grant sacked as Chelsea Manager
Posted by admin on Mar 20, 2010
Grant’s fairy stale story as Chelsea manager is over, as the club today confirmed that they have decided to end his contract with immediate effect. He wasn’t the right man for the job in the first place. It can be rightly called as a hasty decision, more like Steve Mclaren’s appointment as England manager. Yes, he has taken the title race to the wire, guided Chelsea to the first ever Champions League final appearance, but at the end of the day, when so much money has been invested it is not about finishing second or the way you finish second. Its about winning trophies. And at the end of the day, Grant has WON NOTHING. I believe that this was what ultimately convinced Roman Abramovich and Peter Kenyon to sack him after only eight months of his appointment.

Euro 2008 Final: Spain defeats Germany
Posted by admin on Mar 19, 2010
Euro 2008 is over and Spain have been crowned the Champions of Europe after 44 years. They defeated Germany 1-0 to claim the trophy which I think they deserved more than Germany, not for their football on the night alone but over the entire tournament. Germany have been very inconsistent throughout the championships.
Major Clearout on Cards

Is it the end of Avram Grant’s short reign as Chelsea manager. Chelsea’s Chief Executive, Peter Kenyon, is refusing to confirm that Grant will remain as the manager next season after the first trophy less season since the arrival of Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich. Nobody has supported him since the day one he took over from Jose Mourinho, but if you take a look back at the season as a whole it has been fantastic, except that there has been no trophies. We were in the Carling Cup final, Quarterfinals of the FA cup, went into the last day of the Premier League season level on points with United and nearly beat them in the Champions League final, except for a small slip by John Terry.

Chelsea Vs Tottenham for the Carling Cup at Wembley Preview.

I think this is going to be a great game. It looks like we won’t have Lampard and Terry in the lineup but I still think we have a good chance of winning. I am also very excited for this game not only because it is a cup final, but there are rumors that we may see the Anelka and Drogba duo up front together for the first time.

Chelsea 6 Derby 1
Posted by admin on Mar 15, 2010
It’s been a tough couple weeks for Chelsea being knocked out of the FA Cup anf losing to Tottenham in the Carling Cup Final. But one thing remains almost certain, and thats that you will be able to beat Derby . We did 6-1 in fact, we played a great game being led by Frank Lampard who scored four goals. As he finally comeback from injury. I thought we played very ell, even though it was Derby. I hope we can ride this momentum, and start our winning ways back up again. Read the rest of this entry »
Bridge signs new contract
Posted by admin on Mar 15, 2010
Wayne Bridge has stunned everyone by signing a new four year deal which runs until 2012 just days after reports that he was on the verge of joining Portsmouth for £7 million, the same fee for which he joined the club. He has always been the second guy and the signing of Ashley Cole from Arsenal in 2006 pushed more on the sidelines. But he has always been a great professional and has done a wonderful job when always called upon. It is difficult to pick him ahead of Cole even though many believe that Cole is not the same player he once used to be when at Arsenal, because Cole is defensively better than Bridge. Had Cole started ahead of Bridge in the Carling Cup final, I think that we could have won it. Bridge lacks the big game experience and hence played in only 22 games.
